Shopper arrested after moonwalking while in possession of heroin

A man who aroused the suspicion of a store employee because he was moonwalking though the aisles was charged with having heroin, authorities said.

Mark Wixler, 39, of Toms River, New Jersey, was inside the Speedway gas station in Toms River late on Wednesday when he caught the attention of an employee, said Ralph Stocco, spokesman for the Toms River Police Department.

Stocco said the employee called police at around 11:30pm to report that a customer in the convenience store there was lingering and acting erratically inside the store, including moonwalking his way through the aisles as he decided what to buy.

Officers who responded to the scene determined Wixler had a warrant out of Neptune Township for $2,000, Stocco said. After he was arrested for the outstanding warrant, authorities found he was in possession of six hypodermic needles and a small amount of heroin, Stocco said. Wixler is being held in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River pending a future court date, Stocco said.
