Australian woman told she's too old to flash her buttocks

A woman who flashed her bare buttocks at a crowd of about 200 people, including children, at Indy on the Gold Coast has been fined $400 and berated by the magistrate for being too old to flash.

Lucinda Dorothy Dimond, 37, of Main Beach, pleaded guilty in Southport Magistrates Court to being a public nuisance on Indy Sunday, October 26.

Police told the court that patrolling officers saw a crowd of people in Breaker Street, Main Beach, watching something on the fourth floor of the Sunbird Apartments. They saw Ms Dimond come out on to the balcony three times, turn her back on the crowd, lift her short denim skirt and start spanking her bare buttocks.

The police said it appeared Ms Dimond was not wearing underwear, but she denied this. Police said that each time Ms Dimond appeared on the balcony, the crowd became inflamed.

When confronted, she could give no reason for her behaviour but told arresting police she had drunk two bottles of wine.

Magistrate Mr George Wilkie noted that she had no previous convictions, but commented that he thought she was 'a bit past this behaviour at your age'.
