The Queen's kissing horse prepares for Diamond Jubilee

Thomas, who is known as the Household Cavalry's 'Kissing Horse' practices puckering up ahead of his Diamond Jubilee procession. Thomas is just one of the Queen's 232 horses housed at Hyde Park Barracks in London and will ride in formation with The Queen's royal carriages for the Diamond Jubilee.

But unlike the other prized horses, Thomas who froms part of the Household Cavalry Mounted Division appears to love giving personal displays of affection. For the price of mint sweet, he happily gives his riding instructor Trooper Rob Hockey a slobbery wet kiss on the lips.

"He's always done it, he's always known to have done it. I think just because of the general nature of the horse himself, he's very charming, he's very nice to be with, he loves the attention, so when we go down to the Queen he is always a friendly person."

"He'll always play with you and a couple of people will give him mints. He's probably learnt how to do it himself. It's his way of saying thank you," Trooper Hockey added.

When I saw the title I thought this was going to be a comment about her consort. ;)
