Pass The Dutchie improves corridor congestion at school

An unusual technique to combat school corridor congestion has been rolled out at a Llanelli school.

Pass The Dutchie, a reggae song recorded by Musical Youth, is being piped into the hallways of Bryngwyn Comprehensive School to remind pupils to pass on the left hand side.

Head teacher Paul Jones said: "The concept was an innovative and imaginative idea from pupils coming out of a school council meeting. The purpose was to improve the smooth and effective transition, as pupils and staff travel around school between busy lesson changeovers."

The hit song topped the charts for three weeks in the 80s and was inspired by Gimme the Music by U Brown and Pass the Kouchie by The Mighty Diamonds. Mr Jones added: "It is quite surprising, not only do the pupils enjoy it, but they responded and it does work."

Heh! So weird for me to think that a song about weed etiquette is being used by a school.
