Man politely asked two crocodiles to get off the road

A man in Australia's Northern Territory has filmed the moment he politely asked two crocodiles to stop blocking the road.

Tour guide operator Darren Nickolls was approaching Cahills Crossing in Arnhem Land, when he spotted the stubborn reptiles blocking the way.

Instead of beeping at the crocodiles, or slowly edging his vehicle forward to scare them off, the owner of the Dhipirri Barra and Sportfishing Lodge slowly approached the creatures on foot. “Do you want to get off the road so we can pass please?” Mr Nickolls politely asked the pair. While one croc was quick to jump back into the water, the second needed a bit more encouragement.

“C’mon get of the road, move, thank you,” he added, before the second crocodile slid into the dark water. Mr Nickolls says that it was not uncommon for crocodiles to be spotted on the crossing, which runs over the East Alligator River. “It’s not unusual up here, especially at that crossing,” he said. “A couple of months ago during the day, there were up to 30 crocodiles there.”

Lovely video, but the whole time I'm like 'put the camera down and just hold her'. People spend so much time videoing or taking pictures, they forget to just be in the moment. Beautiful baby.
