Allegedly drunk trucker was standing on seat trying to change his pants when vehicle rolled

Vermont State Police say a man was drunkenly changing his clothes before his tractor trailer rolled over while driving on the highway on Wednesday morning.



Allen R. Johnson Sr, 62, of Meriden, Connecticut was driving on Interstate 89 in Williston, Vermont, when his vehicle rolled over at around 9:30am, according to police.

A police investigation revealed that Johnson Sr was standing on his driver’s seat and trying to change his pants while driving at 63 mph . He also failed a sobriety test after a breath test showed .209% BAC, which is five times the legal limit for driving on a public highway.



He was taken to University of Vermont Medical Center for minor injuries. Johnson was released and is scheduled to appear in Chittenden County Criminal Court on November 22 for the charges of driving under the influence while operating a commercial motor vehicle and negligent operation.
