Man 'poisoned' hundreds of butterflies in tree because they 'upset his dog'

A man has been caught on video seemingly poisoning hundreds of butterflies in a tree at Hatton Vale, Lockyer Valley, Queensland, Australia.



In the video the man, who is said to live nearby, is seen spraying a substance at hundreds of butterflies.



The man was allegedly poisoning the butterflies in response to cars pulling over and taking photos of the phenomenon, which upset his dog.



Melinda Schulte, who filmed the incident, claimed the local council was acting on the incident, however no one at the Lockyer Valley Regional Council was available to comment.
