Family homeless after Polish builders turn squatters

Brendan McGettrick always dreamed of owning the perfect family home.

So when he and his wife, Rhona, hired builders to carry out a loft conversion they could hardly contain their excitement.

But after contesting the final bill of £37,000 they were stunned to find the workmen had barricaded themselves in and changed the locks.

Yesterday, after a judge ordered the builders to leave the couple's £700,000 four bedroom terraced house.
