Three women have been barred from a camp site because they did not intend to take husbands or boyfriends with them.
They were told that the site had a rule barring single-sex groups of more than two.
Caroline Henderson, 37, who was planning a short holiday with her friends, Sasha Long, 38, and Linda Parker, 35, said she was outraged by the decision.
The three women, from Hove, East Sussex, intended to take their children with them but were told by John Buckland, the site manager at Nunnington Farm, West Wittering, West Sussex, that they would need to have at least one adult male with them.
Mr Buckland said: "Three or four women with children can be an absolute nightmare."
