Inflatable artwork deaths probed

Police have said they are keeping an open mind about what led to the deaths of two people when an inflatable sculpture blew 30ft in the air.

Two women died and 13 people were hurt when the "Dreamscape" artwork was lifted about 30ft (9m) into the air at Riverside Park in Chester-le-Street, Country Durham, on Sunday.

A 38-year-old woman from Chester-le-Street and a 68-year-old Seaham woman were killed.

A three-year-old girl who was seriously injured was flown to Newcastle General Hospital.

The link above contains video of the incident. There is a slideshow here, whilst to try and put it into perspective, here is a large selection of photos from inside the artwork on a better day.
