Puppy-boiling mother jailed for four months

A mother who boiled her daughter's puppy alive then left it to die in agony has been jailed for four months.

Evil Lynda Cairns, 55, tried to drown 10-week-old black mongrel Ruby in scalding water. When she did not die, Cairns told her son to dump the dog.

A member of the public found Ruby's body her face covered in blisters and clumps of fur burned off the legs, head and body.

Cairns, who also has two dogs and a cat, admitted at an earlier hearing animal cruelty and abandoning the puppy in circumstances likely to cause unnecessary suffering.

With quite graphic photo of the puppy.
