A father who smashed his way into a pub and passed out blamed tablets he took for pain after being shot in the testicle.
Dominic Peck's solicitor told magistrates he was left disorientated when alcohol reacted badly with anti-depressants he was forced to take following the shooting by police in 2005.
Peck had been shot by a rubber baton round during a police siege in Barry for which he was jailed for 27 months and one of his testicles was later removed.
Confused and with nowhere to sleep on Saturday, July 8 - just one week after he was released from jail - the 40-year-old smashed his way into the Beethoven pub, Maesteg, and passed out on the floor.
