Deer takes a dip at beach resort

Sea lovers have been joined in the waters off Suffolk - by a deer.

The male Muntjac deer was spotted taking a dip off Lowestoft's South Beach on Sunday morning by members of the public, who waded in to save it.

An RSPCA spokesman said it was not known why the animal had taken to the water, but it may have gone in after being startled by inquisitive tourists.

After attempting to scale the sea wall, an RSPCA officer managed to catch the deer and take it to nearby woodland.
