A drink-driver drove along a live railway line - after she mistook it for a pub car park late at night.
Lorraine Hamilton, 40, got her car wedged between the two lines near Berwick Station after making a wrong turn.
She thought she was turning into the Berwick Inn – and only realised her incredible blunder when she noticed the surface under her car 'did not feel right'.
But she was heading towards a train carrying 45 passengers, near Lewes, East Sussex. A signalman spotted her and the train did an emergency stop.
He then told her to run "but she seemed more worried about her handbag", a Lewes court was told.
Hamilton was banned from driving for two years and ordered to re-take her driving test when the disqualification expires. She was also ordered to pay £1,000 in compensation to Southern rail and fined a further £900 with £75 costs.
