'Revenge' rape girl is jailed

A heavily pregnant teenager who masterminded a "terrible and inhumane'' gang rape revenge on a love rival has been jailed for six-and-a-half years.

Destiny Ekanga treated her victim "like a piece of meat'' as she and a friend, Halima Ahmed, first lured their victim to a car, drove to a deserted east London park and ordered her to strip, London's Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.

As the 23-year-old pleaded for mercy, the jury was told, she was beaten and then forced to have oral sex with two strangers who had been recruited en route.

One of them then phoned two of his friends, the court heard. They, too, took turns to subject the woman to similar abuse, while those watching her "humiliation'' laughed and jeered as every minute of it was filmed on mobile phones.

In the hours that followed she was again hit, driven to a footbridge and once more filmed -- this time in broad daylight -- as she was made to give oral sex to another of Ekanga's friends. A short time later she managed to flee her captors and raise the alarm.

Ekanga (19), of Orwell Road, Plaistow, east London, sought "revenge'' on the woman when she discovered that her boyfriend had stormed out after a row and later bedded the woman.
