"Crutch Bandit" robs bank in Albuquerque

Waving a gun with one hand and holding a crutch in the other, a man fired several shots inside a New Mexico bank during a robbery.

FBI officers are still trying to track down a man, now dubbed the “Crutch Bandit,” who robbed a branch of the Bank of Albuquerque last Wednesday.

The thief, dressed in what looked like a ninja outfit, was described as an Asian man, 25-35 years old, approximately 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds.

No one was injured during the frightening incident.

The man waved a semiautomatic pistol in the air while staggering around on his crutch. As a teller filled a bag with money the robber walked passed all three teller windows and then took the bag and left.

FBI officials hope that with the release of the video footage someone will recognize the man and turn him in.
