Jean Mansel is happy an 80-pound statue of Jesus is part of her life again.
Mansel and her husband were devastated after someone swiped the statue from a pedestal in their front yard in Kent County’s Oakfield Township. A ransom note was left in their mailbox on Thursday.
At first, it was believed neighbours took the statue because of a dispute over whether Mansel has been picking up after her four wiener dogs.
But it turns out a neighbour didn’t make off with the statue.
Mansel said that it was taken by relatives but she declined to explain.
She’d only say the whole ordeal has now become a family situation.
