A woman kept driving after she struck a utility pole and her truck caught on fire. Troopers say the 44-year-old woman ran off the road at 41 1/2 Street and Paw Paw Road around 8:41p.m. on Monday night.
She ran a stop sign at the intersection, drove off the road and hit a utility pole. The pole snapped in half and came down pulling wires onto the intersection.
The driver was able to backup onto the road, however, the truck she was driving was on fire. The driver kept driving her burning truck. She continued on until the truck was fully engulfed and she had to bail out.
The driver suffered burns to her hands and head and was transported to Bronson Hospital. Her Pug dog, which survived, was also burned in the crash.
The truck was a total loss from the fire. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Power in this area was also disrupted from the downed power lines.
