Live field mouse found in new blanket

A shocked mum bought a fluffy new blanket from a supermarket – and found a mouse had made a bed in it.

Mandy Macari discovered the tiny creature had chewed a huge hole in the £8 Tesco throw when she unwrapped it.

She and daughter Jane, 13, had hysterics as the field mouse fell out and promptly shot under a bed. Chaos ensued as they chased it and it scuttled under a wardrobe, then a bookcase and finally burrowed into a pile of fluffy toys.

Mandy said: “We spent days screaming and jumping on beds trying to catch the mouse like a scene from a cartoon.

“We couldn’t catch it so Jane went to bed. But later that night she woke to find it eating some spaghetti she had left on her bedside table. It certainly knew how to make itself at home.”

Mandy finally found the mouse dead in the bedroom.
