Tributes from around the world would pour into Britain at the shocking news of the death of Tony Blair.
But George Bush won't be mourning his poodle just yet – it's Blair the rat who has passed on.
As posted here earlier this month, the rodent become an art sensation when his bitten avocado, torn newspaper and gnawed blanket creations were sent to galleries by his owner Helena Seget. Some of his pieces sold for £1,000.
Tony, who died after recently falling ill, had been working on a kitchen sponge creation. But with Ms Seget's other two rats, Gordon Brown and Archangel Gabriel, having less artistic flair, rat art is likely to lose its lustre.
She said: 'I will finish Tony's work, but that may be the last of this genre.'
Like his human namesake, Tony's legacy will live on – a Discovery Channel programme about his work was finished just before his death and some of his pieces will be submitted to a show by the Royal Academy of Arts.
