Bottle-thrower falls out of car window

An Australian man who threw beer bottles at a car travelling behind his suffered broken bones when he fell out of the car window.

The 34-year-old man leaned so far out of the window to throw the bottles at another car that he fell onto the road and rolled into a ditch, police said.

He suffered a suspected broken ankle in the incident, near the north Queensland town of Atherton, yesterday.

The man was passenger in the car and was asleep when the female driver began shouting at him, police said.

Believing she was upset with the car behind them, the man started throwing bottles at it.

Apparently his driver had been asking him for directions, police said.
