Porn class for 10-year-old schoolboy

A 10-year-old Kent schoolboy thought he was doing the right thing when he showed his mother what he had been getting up to at school.

But Kerry Mateer was left fuming when her son, Rhys, produced copies of explicit sexual and violent images downloaded from a classroom computer.

The Year 6 boy was in the IT suite at St Helen's Primary, Cliffe, near Rochester, with a supervising teacher nearby, when he tapped the word porn into an internet search engine.

He then printed out the pictures and popped them in his school bag to take home.

The school has admitted problems with software which is meant to block access to adult sites. It has now banned online access for pupils until the problem is fixed.

Mum Kerry said: "I'm appalled, angry and scared. You place your trust with the school to look after your children and don't expect to have to be worrying about them when they're there." She is now considering removing her son from the school over the incident.
