Divorcé Joe, who has a severe back problem, tripped over a phone cord during a power cut and landed on the three-seater which then toppled over on to him.
He lay face down for more than 60 hours before his cries for help were heard.
Joe had no food or water, but could just reach a bottle of whisky he had knocked to the floor during his fall.
The 65-year-old was finally saved when a neighbour’s grandson decided to pop in. Joe said: “I was so happy when the young man came round. I saw him at the window and screamed. He rang for help and I was rushed into hospital in the nick of time.”
Joe, who has no children, recovered in hospital for five days before returning to his home in Yeovil, Somerset.
