Knife yob to sue police for swearing at him

A thug who threatened to stab four police officers plans to sue - because a sergeant swore at him.

Glen Francis had hurled a bowl of pasta at a policewoman when officers arrived to arrest his girlfriend at their home.

He later barricaded himself into a room, used a hammer to smash the walls, and screamed: "The first copper in here is getting f*****g killed."

When armed back-up arrived, Francis, 35, lunged at them with a sixinch knife, before being shot twice with a Taser gun. But he simply pulled the metal barbs from his skin and continued his savage attack before being dragged to the ground.

Now Francis, of North Shields, Tyne & Wear, who was given a 12 month suspended prison sentence for affray, plans to take his case to the European Court Of Human Rights.

He claims he was "insulted" when the officer used a four-letter word to describe him during the incident. A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "If a civil action is received it will be considered in the usual manner."
