Italian robbers leave safe behind because it's too big for their car

Bungling Italian burglars were forced to leave a safe in the middle of the road because they could not fit it into their getaway vehicle.

They held up a jewellers in Palermo and managed to take the huge safe out of the building but could not get it into their car. They then dumped it in the street.



They did manage to escape with ten watches worth £2,000.

The safe had a time lock which meant it was not opened before the alarm was sounded.
