Angus Council issued 88 parking tickets to motorists in Arbroath last year, new figures reveal.
In 2009, the town was one of the worst-hit areas in Angus for parking fines with only Kirriemuir seeing more tickets handed out.
A fine for receiving a parking ticket in Angus is £25. That rises to £30 if the charge is not paid within two weeks. Failure to pay the £30 fine in the allotted time can result in the driver's details being passed to the Procurator Fiscal for legal proceedings to begin against them.
A total of at least £2,200 will have been raised from parking fines in Arbroath by the council with the county-wide total at least £10,000.
Six people also appealed against parking tickets they had picked up in Arbroath although the figures do not show how many of these appeals were successful.
A council spokeswoman said: "Car parking remains free in Angus and fines are only issued where breaches of the conditions of use of the car park have been made by the driver, for example, inappropriate use of disabled bays or parking outwith a bay."
