Dogs chew off baby's testicles

Two large dogs have chewed off the testicles of a 6-month-old boy strapped in a baby carrier and left alone in a Riverside County apartment.

Murrieta police say the 22-year-old mother Carrie McKinney had left the baby in a car seat on the floor in her boyfriend's apartment on Saturday. Sgt. Bob Landwehr says the woman and her boyfriend, Doug Ritchey, left the room when pit bull and pit bull mix attacked the baby, tearing off the infant's diaper and biting his scrotum.

The baby was taken first to a hospital, then to Loma Linda University Medical Center for surgery, Murrieta police Sgt. James Ganley said. The boy lost his testicles.

McKinney has temporarily lost custody of the infant and could potentially face criminal neglect charges, Ganley said. Child Protective Services took the baby from the mother. The dogs will be euthanized.

no dogs are bad on their own, it's the owners

I disagree. I truly believe that pit bulls are inherently bad. No matter how good the dog is, it's only a matter of time before it attacks. I know there's a lot of people who will disagree with me, but that's how I feel.

Is there any chance you Guests could give yourselves names?

There are three different Guest posters above and I'm finding it confusing even though I can see your IP addresses.

It can't be that difficult to give yourself a name. Can it?

Thanks!

This is ghastly, but two of my granddogs are pit bulls, or pit bull cross.  They're great dogs.  The pit bull cross is really affectionate.  He loves everybody, other dogs included, except for cats and squirrels.  Even Michael Vick's poor dogs, trained to fight to the death, were rehabilitated.

I disagree that all pitbulls are inherently bad- That is exactly the same as saying that all humans are inherently bad.
Hoever I do agree that some dogs and not only pitbulls have to be monitored very close because of their particular and individual characters and moods. And with pitbulls it is more a need to monitor them than with - say - chiuawawa's. Even a friendly pitbull can do a lot of hurt if only because of its sheer muscle power and mass.
We've had two pitpulls for years that both were so soft and gentle that they carried little chicks from our hens in their beaks without even drooling on them. Yet we never let any dogs or other of the bigger animals ranging from goats to pony's alone with the smaller kids because harm could have been done equally to the toddlers by either the dogs or the goats or the pony's.

"Two large dogs..."   C'MON SAY IT... PIT BULLS.

It is increasingly obvious that this breed does not need to exist....
