Daniel James DuPuis, 28, was arraigned for the two-year felony in Allegan County. In addition to his teaching position, DuPuis is a pastor in the Holland area, according to court documents.
He has admitted to fondling himself five times between January and April in one the rooms at the school, according to the Michigan State Police. DuPuis said there were no students present at the time and the door was locked.
A janitor alerted school officials to DuPuis' behaviour after noticing "suspicious" items in a trash can, including tissues that had the odour of semen, police said.
A janitor also discovered a pair of girl's underwear, which DuPuis said he didn't know anything about. The item must have fallen out of a girl's backpack, he said.
On Friday, DuPuis was suspended for at least three days without pay - the maximum number of days allowed by the teacher's union. He has no prior criminal record. The Holland man's wife and two young children were in the courtroom for his arraignment. DuPuis' preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on April 28 in Allegan County.

Exactly. And what kind of "exposure" is it if you are alone behind a locked door? Would it still have been a crime if he had had his wanks in a bathroom instead?
I suspect regaining your authority with the students could be a little difficult after this for the teacher.
PS. It is indeed a well known fact that middle school aged girls frequently carry spare panties in their backpacks and the said panties are often prone of falling out and onto the classroom floor without the girl or anyone of her classmates noticing. It happens all the time.
Okay I could accept that this dude was fonding himself behind a locked door so in strickt privacy and with no minor even in the vicinity.

I mean- Anyone can figure out that if you do such things outside your own home, you will be found out and it won't be taken lightly, right?
So if he's caught, it is his own stupidity- however creepy that janitor might be.
I agree, it was stupid of him, but it should not be criminal.
Well, he's probably not allowed to fondle himself at his other office.
