Hundreds 'singing in the rain' break world umbrella dance record

Hundreds of people were singing in the rain on Sunday after breaking the record for the world's largest ever umbrella dance.

Carrying umbrellas, 232 people met near the centre of Bath, Somerset, at midday after six months of training.

Watched by a Guinness World Records adjudicator they then performed a specially choreographed five-minute dance to the song ''Singin' in the Rain''.

The event, organised by Bath International Dance Festival, smashed the previous world record.

''It has taken over six months of exceptionally hard work to allow us to run this very special activity," said James Whitehead, the BIDF Director.
