London rampage man smashes 17 black cars 'out to get him'

A crazed driver rammed at least 17 black cars throughout London, convinced the vehicles were "out to kill him."

The unnamed 45-year-old crashed his VW Golf into taxis and other black vehicles in an early morning rampage in the capital on Friday.

He started in Wimbledon in southwest London, then drove north to Archway, causing chaos as he went.



The man - said to have a history of mental illness - was arrested on the Strand, near the theatre district, as he ploughed into a black cab. "The tally is rising as more reports come in," a source said.

"It is utterly bizarre, but there are a lot of angry cabbies (taxi drivers) who have had their livelihood taken away until their vehicles can be repaired."

The driver was being held by cops under mental health laws and doctors were assessing his mental condition.
