Man banned from wearing skirt breached Asbo - Yet another update

A man banned from wearing skirts or showing bare legs on school days has been found guilty of breaching an Asbo.

Peter Trigger, 60, from Farndon Close, Northampton, was given an anti-social behaviour order in December 2008. He is forbidden from behaving in a manner which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Northampton Magistrates' Court found him guilty of harassing his neighbours but declined to activate a suspended prison sentence he also faced.

Trigger had been banned from wearing a skirt or showing bare legs on a school day between 0830 and 1000 and 1445 and 1600 GMT or BST, the court was told.

Magistrates found him guilty of breaching the Asbo by deliberately bending over in front of his neighbours early in the morning on 16 December last year, causing them harassment, alarm and distress.

Although Trigger was permitted to wear a skirt at that time of day, he had breached the second part of his Asbo by causing harassment, alarm and distress.

Quite a totalitarian concept, these Asbos. These kind of news stories I've seen mostly here at Nothing To Do With Arbroath have made me re-evaluate my image of the UK. I would like my pink shades back, please.

I am not a native English speaker, so you must excuse me for not always getting it excactly right. But did my original post really come across as though I was approving of, or even commenting on, this man's actions?

Yes Insolitus- All the English now think that you come from a place where all males walk in skirts (so you must be from Schotland!)

*DONT_KNOW*

The Asbo doesnt seem to be working, I really wouldn't want my children walking to school with this creep following them

Nothing wrong with showwing a little leg.  I wear shorts and a t-shirt in the yard when I am tending to the shrubs and lawn.  In Texas USA that is the norm.  And as for the ASBO, that is just plain weird.  I have never heard on an ASBO until a couple years ago.  I hope the new PM of England will help stabalize a country over run with islamic fundies, and rife socialism.  But I agree some dude dressing like a sissy and following school kids, is disturbing.

I don't think the ASBO is merely for wearing a skirt.  It's what he's doing while wearing the skirt that's the problem.

I live in Farndon close and it is very disturbing what this man is up to. To see him walk past my house twice a day, every day is just not fair to myself and my family! Especially when he bend over showing his panties.... Yet the police are doing nothing further about it. There are many young children who live in our road of only 28 houses and it disturbs and confuses them.
