US police Taser naked jogger‎

Police said an officer had to use a stun gun to stop a naked man running through West Melbourne. According to police, Zak Anthony King, of Palm Bay, was running northbound on Hollywood Boulevard at around 7:05 a.m. on Tuesday, in his birthday suit. “He was wearing swimming goggles and nothing else,” said Officer Ken Sells.

The report said King, 18, kept running after the officer repeatedly told him to stop. Sells said when he warned the teen he was about to zap him, King replied, “Why would you tase me?” King also claimed to have super powers, according to Sells.

The officer then ran after King and fired his stun gun. King fell and slid along the pavement, sustaining a number of scratches, scrapes and bruises. “He hit the sidewalk pretty hard, because he was running very fast,” West Melbourne police Cmdr. Steve Wilkinson said. “The officer was able to get just close enough to discharge the Taser.”

Police handcuffed King, who was reported to be incoherent. He told police he left his home at noon. He later told them it was dark outside when he began his jog. King was arrested for exposing his sexual organs. He was taken to Weusthoff Hospital for observation. Police said they did not immediately know whether King was under the influence of drugs.
