Nestlé is launching an investigation after a Clifton woman claims she found a shotgun cartridge in a tin of Quality Street. Kay Davis, 53, of Clifton, bought the sweets from Asda in West Bridgford.
She said she was in shock when she saw the cartridge. "I had to go outside and take a deep breath so I would be able to decide what to do," she said.
Mrs Davis went to the police and was met by a Nestlé representative, who examined the tin of chocolates. She said the representative suggested a disgruntled employee could have placed the cartridge in the tin.
"He couldn't believe it. He was absolutely gob-smacked something like this could have happened." A Nestlé spokeswoman said: "We are aware of this very unusual incident which is being investigated by the Nottingham police.
