Grandfather takes wrong child home from day care

A mix-up at a Cleveland day care resulted in a grandfather taking the wrong child home.

A grandfather went to pick up his three-year-old grandson on Thursday afternoon when an employee at the Fatima Family Center gave him the wrong child, according to Cleveland police.

Neither realized the mistake until the mother of the child arrived to pick up her son. Police said the grandfather, who by then had realized he had the wrong child and was on his way back to the day care by the time the police were called.

Cleveland police will not file charges and determined the event was not criminal.
