Australian skydive centre creates Experience Human Flight skydiving film

Never has hurtling towards earth at speeds of over 180 mph (290km/h) been made to look so graceful. Spectacular footage has been released of skydivers falling through clouds and blocking out the sun in super slow-motion above Victoria.

Created by Melbourne-based design studio Betty Wants In for Melbourne Skydive Centre, Experience Human Flight gives a birds-eye view of what it’s like to experience sky diving. Some of Australia’s best sky divers can be seen floating above locations such as the Yarra Valley.

Ossie Khan from Melbourne Skydive Centre said the video was made to show a different side to the sport. “Most people think skydiving involves just jumping out of a plane and falling to the ground. That’s not the case,” Ossie Khan said.

“People who come to skydive for the first time, their biggest worry are whether the parachute opens. The video takes the fear out of skydiving and captures the beauty of it rather than the adrenalin and fear attached to it. Yes you get an adrenalin hit and your senses and emotions are heightened, but it’s really all about being able to fly around the sky in a 3D environment.”
