A 3-year-old Wilson boy, whose guardian is a Wilson County Sheriff's deputy, is dead after an accidental shooting, according to Wilson police.
Police say they arrived at a home on Rountree Street on Saturday morning to find a boy with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound.
They report the boy's legal guardian is Wilson County Sheriff's deputy Marcus Ruffin.
Police did not release any more information, only reporting they continue to investigate the incident and that the "preliminary investigation does indicate this incident is accidental and was self inflicted."

So the kid shot himself with a police-issued gun.
Isn't it pretty negligent for a cop to leave his gun where a 3-year-old can get at it?
