Man given extended ASBO for singing rude version of Yellow Submarine

A Mansfield man given an ASBO for loudly and repeatedly playing Bruce Springsteen songs has landed himself in trouble again.

Sixty-four-year-old John Norman, of Woodland Drive, became the oldest person in the town and one of the oldest in the country to be hit with an Anti-Social Behaviour Order when he was dragged before magistrates in June 2008.

And the order has now been extended for a further 18 months after Norman turned up the volume again for his unfortunate neighbours - this time by taunting them with an offensive version of the Beatles' Yellow Submarine, changing the lyrics to abuse his victims.

He had been given the original three-year ASBO on 10th June 2008 after constantly playing Springsteen’s hit Born in the USA loudly and repetitively. Under the order he is forbidden from acting in a manner which causes or is likely to cause nuisance, harassment, alarm or distress to his neighbours.
