Crowd think it's a joke as wing walker falls to death

A horrified crowd of thousands watched a "wing walker" plummet to his death on Sunday after a Michigan air show stunt went horribly wrong. "He just looked like a (mannequin) when he was falling through the air," said Ed Goodfellow, a photographer who was shooting pictures at the Selfridge Air Show in Harrison Township.

Goodfellow was able to snap a couple of frames before Todd Green plunged 200 feet to his death at around 1:30 p.m. Green was balancing on a wing of a plane, trying to grab a helicopter's skid. Moments after an announcer took note of the wind, Green fell from the wing when he was unable to clutch onto the helicopter as part of a trick he had been doing for years.

The helicopter circled the plane twice for Green to attempt to latch on, but he fell on the third try, witnesses said. "My first thought was it was a mannequin falling because there was no movement at all," Christine Doran of Allen Park said. "I turned to Jeff (her boyfriend) and asked, 'That was fake, right?'"

Teri Kawa-White of St. Clair County thought she saw a crash-test dummy falling. "He was trying to get to the helicopter, but then he fell," Kawa-White said. "It was very emotional to watch." Green was taken to Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Green started performing aerial stunts more than a quarter century ago.

The next time you.... I mean, When you fall to your death, you should move around so people won't think you're a mannequin.

If you continue cheating death long enough, death will eventually win. Doesn't make it any less horrible, but still.
