Pranksters dump saltwater crocodile in public swimming pool

A crocodile has been caught doing laps in a public swimming pool. The 53cm saltwater crocodile shocked swimmers when it was found in Darwin's Parap pool.

The baby saltie is believed to have been thrown into the pool as a prank. Northern Territory parks and wildlife ranger Tommy Nichols said this was the third croc to find its way into a public pool in the past couple of years.

"They didn't get there by themselves," he said. "It's just a stupid thing to do.

"Certainly, a croc this size isn't going to hurt anyone, but if it was bigger, it could have ended badly". The croc was caught by the pool's lifeguard Tim Dupe.
