Strapping Martin Boller, 42, burst in wearing a figure hugging mini dress complete with fake breasts and skin-tight velvet leggings. He set off his ensemble in Unterretzbach, Austria, with a flowing, long wig, trendy wraparound sunglasses and pink-painted finger and toenails.
Police were flooded with eye witness descriptions of Boller arriving at the bank, carrying out the robbery and fleeing in his getaway car. Passers by took down his registration number and he was later intercepted heading towards the Czech Republic border still in his transvestite get up.
"Unfortunately he didn't make a very convincing woman and once anyone had had a single look at him in that get up, they couldn't get the sight of him out of their mind. Let's hope he goes straight now," said one officer.
