Robbers armed with hammer and axe take just one packet of Monster Munch during raid

Robbers armed with a hammer and axe stole just a single 65p packet of Monster Munch crisps from a newsagents. The raiders entered the shop in Little Hulton, Greater Manchester, on Sunday afternoon and demanded cash but left empty-handed.

They then returned and made off with the crisps. Police Constable Lucy Pearson, from Greater Manchester Police's Volume Crime Team, said:

"These men have twice entered the shop armed with weapons and threatened the owner yet have risked their liberty for a single bag of crisps. That said the quantity of goods stolen in no way lessens the seriousness of this crime, which is an armed robbery, plain and simple."

One offender is described as white, 6ft, and was wearing a black hooded top over a blue hooded top. The other offender is described as white, 5ft 5in and was wearing a grey Nike hooded jumper and balaclava.
