Drunken yob who rammed officers with electric wheelchair stopped when policewoman unplugged it

A policewoman unplugged a disabled yob's electric wheelchair after he rammed one of her colleagues. Drunken thug Kevin O'Brien tried to bite and punch the officers who were attempting to help him after he fell from the chair.

But when the 26-year-old drove the machine at a male officer's legs, his female colleague pulled a cable out of the back of it so he couldn't move. Ayr Sheriff Court heard sozzled O'Brien had been spotted lying outside his homeless hostel. Scott Toal, prosecuting, said: "They noticed he was under the influence of alcohol and he was advised he wouldn't be allowed in the hostel.

"He then began to shout and swear at the officers, calling them f****** idiots and b*******. He started running his wheelchair into the legs of the male officers. The female officer intervened and unplugged one of the sockets at the rear, thereby preventing the accused from moving.

"He agreed to calm down, but every time the cable was reconnected, he rammed the same officer on the legs." O'Brien admitted assaulting the cop on November 1. He has a number of previous convictions. Sentence was deferred for three months.

If that is a picture of the 26 year old man, clearly he has lived a hard life.
