Man took alpaca along as he visited police station

Residents and shoppers in the Australian suburb of Norwood, Adelaide, witnessed an unusual sight as a man took an alpaca for a walk to the local police station.

The man walked the alpaca on a long lead and entered the police station at about 3pm. yesterday. He initially tried to enter the station with the animal.

Another man then exited the station and held the animal's lead while the owner went inside. The man was inside the station for a couple of minutes before rejoining his alpaca and walking away.

A police spokeswoman would not comment on the man's reason for the police visit but said it was not alpaca-related.
