“We would like to apologise to any customers that were affected during this isolated incident.” Passengers on the X78 Rotherham to Sheffield service had to wait 20 minutes before a new driver took the controls.
The slogan, for gay rights group Stonewall read: ““Some people are gay. Get over it!” Stonewall information officer Louise Kelly said: “Passengers in Rotherham can rightly expect bus drivers to do the job they pay them to do - drive buses. If they are unwilling to, perhaps they should look for another job.”

I wonder how a gay bus driver might react to being expected to drive a bus with a banner that said "Most people aren't gay. Get over it!"
If, as some people are, the bus driver is a product of a religion which preaches that homosexuality is a great sin, then I suppose I can understand his reaction. Imagine, for instance, a bus with a message promoting bestiality, rape, or paedophilia. To some people, those messages are equivalent.

Bullshit! It's EVERYONE'S "job" to decide what and how they use FREE CHOICE to associate themselves with something, or not. When the man-boy love association advertises on the side of the bus, will you stand in front of the mob to defend that driver?

And yes, of course you have free choice. To refuse to do what you're contracted to do. It's called quitting your job.
Do you really think the mob will target a bus driver based on a bus ad? I'd assume the bus company will only accept adverts for legal products or activities, so the likelihood is low. And no, I'd not stand between him and the mob. I'd suggest he just uses the fact that he's driving a great big bus as an escape route.

Say that the Man/Boy Love Association did the commercial, "Some people love kids, get over it", I seriously doubt there would be any bitching.
My point is that is has been what..less than 40 years since homo-sex was made legal in Europe, some countries earlier, some later.

We are discussing a relationship between two consenting adults. The other examples stated that could be used are all illegal. I'm with barbwire on this one.
I doubt there are many gay people who have a problem with the fact most people are straight. Indeed, non-acceptance by gay people is most likely one of the smallest things causing trouble for heterosexuals.
Still, I find the whole sexuality-religion-offense angle in this kind of irrelevant. A bus driver is supposed to drive the bus, not decide the advertisements on it. Everyone opposes and is offended by something that can appear in an ad on a bus - the female body, caffeine, keeping pets, charities collecting money for Africa and so on. Would you understand a bus driver who didn't do his job because of a coffee ad?
Obviously he didn't. Get over it, that is.
