Man strung-up mouse that ate his wages

A Palestinian man has retaliated against a mouse that chewed through some of his wages by suspending the animal by its limbs and posting an image on Facebook.

The man, who lives in Gaza but is originally from the city of Hebron in the West Bank, tied the mouse to ropes to avenge the mouse’s actions in sneaking into the Palestinian’s closet and eating three 200 Israeli Shekel banknotes (£105, $170) of the man’s pay.

The man claimed he had just received his weekly salary and had hidden it from view for safety. His actions come amid extreme and unprecedented economic conditions faced in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories, the West Bank and Gaza.

The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) has delayed cashing in public worker salaries for several months in the West Bank due to shortages brought about in part by Israeli withholding of Palestinian funds.

This is the latest time you have posted a vile image and tried to make light of it. Remember the dead mouse made to flop about as if a puppet? Cut it out. Just when I think it's safe to re-bookmark you.....

This is the same kind of sick thinking that promotes the crazy US gun culture. I guess we have more in common with Palestinians than I had thought.

How exactly am I trying to make light of it, A?

I'm curious.

There was no levity in your post. It was a report about a vile act told in an objective way.

Puncuation.

'It is Fred' vs 'It is, Fred'.

Anon probably thought you were naming the mouse.

Spelling. Also important.

'Punctuation'.

Actually, what Mike said (though a typo snuck in). That is how it sounded to me. What would make it less ambivalent for me is if you would openly denounce such acts depicted in such images, therefore sending a clear message: such acts of cruelty are universally no longer tolerated, they must stop immediately. You do not feature the image as tacit acceptance but rather as an example of what you abhor. You don't have to, of course, it is your blog, but it is what makes me hesitant to recommend you. --A.

Come on, it's only a mouse. Cats are much crueller than this.

Easily, the most cruel creature on earth is us. You know that. It's not the object of our compassion that should be the measure or matter of it, but rather what we wish to extend such that it renders us in fact humane. So if your "c'mon" is really all you have to offer, you fail.

A, the mouse would've been fine if he was carrying. Right? Self defense. If only all animals were armed. And all people. Then we'd ALL be safe.

Gondwana, LOL. Yeah, 'cos that'd make total sense. --A.
