Car ended up on roof of house during polce chase

A suspect is still on the run after sending his vehicle soaring through the air, and crash landing on the roof of a residential home in Forest Acres, South Carolina, early on Saturday morning, according to Columbia Police Department.



Just after 2am a CPD officer was on routine patrol when they noticed what appeared to be an illegal drug transaction at or near a vehicle. The suspect was driving erratically. CPD initiated a routine traffic stop but the suspect disregarded blue lights and sirens.

According to Forest Acres Police when the vehicle went off the road it went airborne, landing on the roof of a residential property. The suspect then got out of the car and ran away from the scene, leaving his black Honda Civic atop the home.



People were home at the time but luckily, there were no injuries. The suspect was not located inside the car. CPD located forensic evidence at the scene. Officers also located crack cocaine and cash inside the vehicle. Those items were taken into evidence. CPD continues to gather information on the suspect.
