A train company is investigating
after passengers were told to "please be aware of pickpockets and Gypsies" when getting
off a train at a station in Shropshire.
The announcement was made over the train's speaker system as the train prepared to stop at Telford
Central station.

The message was met with cheers from passengers on the train. London Midland said it had not received any official complaints about the incident, which happened on the Wolverhampton to Shrewsbury service on Saturday.
The company said it had started an internal investigation into the
incident. It said it was "deeply sorry to anyone who was offended by the announcement".

If a pickpocket gets offended by being called a pickpocket, perhaps the pickpocket should stop being a pickpocket.
While certainly not every Gypsy is a pickpocket, they really didn't have to be repetitious.
I find this advice discriminatory. Why didn't they warn about the Blacks, Jews and Irish, too? There are selfish people in every population.
