He was stopped trying to leave the store in Cannock, Staffordshire, on December 6 and police were called after he attempted to run off. He admitted theft at Cannock Magistrates’ Court and was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

The court heard Cooper, of Cannock, picked up the sex toy, along with a bottle of Lucozade and a cake. But when he approached the cashiers he realised all of them were women and was too ashamed to buy it so stole it instead.
Prosecutor Zoe Speake said: "When Mr Cooper was stopped at the exit of the store he ran off across the car park." Serena Joshi, defending, said: "Mr Cooper had the money for the item but was simply too embarrassed to pay for it."
