Police in Manchester are on the hunt for a shoplifter described as having bad teeth who made off with almost £140 worth of honey. The offender struck at a city centre store at around 11.30am on Saturday, making off with three jars.

After the theft GMP city centre tweeted: “Just had a report of a theft of honey, 3 jars worth nearly £140. Funnily enough offender described as having bad teeth.”

Speaking after the incident, city centre policing division’s sergeant Anna Keese said: “We were called this morning to reports a female had stolen three jars of honey worth £138.

“The offender is described as a white female who was around 5ft tall with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing turquoise jeans, a black jumper and large hoop earrings. Staff said that she also had bad teeth.” An investigation has been launched and officers were sent to the store to liaise with staff.

I know bees are down in numbers, but honey at £46 a jar? Unless it has superpowers to cure all ailments, someone is taking the piss!
