Road-crossing sloth rescued by traffic police

During a routine patrol, officers from the traffic police in Equador found a surprise.



A little sloth trying to cross the busy ring road in Quevedo. The animal was hugging an iron pillar in the middle of the road.





Officers that were in the area stopped to help. According to Israel Bustamante, lieutenant of the CTE, (Comisión de Tránsito del Ecuador), the animal is safe.



"He was lazy and checked by a veterinarian and was in excellent condition to return to his natural habitat."
